5 Aesthetic Content Design Ideas for This Christmas Season

Yes, you read that right. It is almost Christmas content season!

And there’s no better time to refresh your brand visuals with cozy, sparkly, heartfelt designs, right?

Considering that all social media sites seem to be pushing design-rich posts, encouraging users to get creative and artsy, cool & aesthetic Canva templates are our best friends when planning content for the holidays.

To help you get started, I’ve created a Christmas Aesthetic Canva Template Pack, filled with pre-made layouts in every style: from digital scrapbooks to minimal collages and modern tech-inspired grids, a little bit of everything!

But first, lets talk trends. Here are five aesthetic ideas you can use this Christmas (all included in the pack) that are PEREFCT for this season:

1. Junk Journaling or Digital Scrapbooking

If you love warm, nostalgic vibes, start by creating a Christmas junk journal or digital scrapbook page. Mix behind-the-scenes photos from your shop, snippets from your personal photo dump, or cozy daily moments like wrapping gifts or baking cookies.
Layer textures, washi tapes, paper scraps, and handwritten notes to give your posts that handmade charm.
💡 Tip: I’ve already written a full blog post on the junk journal trend. Check it out for layout tips and digital scrapbooking ideas!

2. Minimal Elegant Collages

If you prefer a cleaner feed, go for a simple grid layout, like a four-part collage with one small sticker or quote in the center.
Another favorite: a filmstrip overlay across a blurred background photo, or a postcard-style layout (front and back) with space for captions or handwriting. Those are hot hot hot right now!
These minimalist options are chic, easy to customize, and always perform well on Pinterest and Instagram.

3. Play With Emojis to Build Your Own Scene

Emoji collages are a fun way to show your Christmas wishlist or favorite things. Think emoji tree, open gift box, or wreath filled with your dream items, favorite snacks, or cozy must-haves.
The emoji + photo combo feels playful yet personal, perfect for Reels covers, stories, or mood boards.

4. iOS-Core and Tech Interface Layouts

Tech-style collages are trending big this year (check out our blog post about the iOS-core trend, if you haven’t yet!). You can recreate the look of a Notes app, text bubble, or calendar reminder to display quotes, wishlists, or even your December content plan.
These layouts add a modern, relatable twist to classic Christmas themes and are perfect for a clean, Gen Z-friendly aesthetic.

5. Shopping Basket or Gift Box Collages

Highlight your favorite products, must-haves, or small businesses in a trendy shopping basket collage. You can also swap the basket for an open gift box, an airport tray, or a messy coffee tray to match your vibe.
Use this idea for gift guides, shop launches, or influencer collabs. It’s visual storytelling that converts (and check some UGC aesthetic tips on this post too!)
